First check in for the second half of the year – Stitch from Stash

And we are now in part B of this year’s Stitch from Stash experience.  Business first – Spend $20.44 Earned $6.00 Total $14.44

The items I bought were beads and wisper for Raven Queen and the JCS Halloween issue.

The earn is for finishing the Lauren Sauer Basket of Roses Scissor Fob

I found the monogram in a book I had in my stash.  It does look better from a distance than up close.  The current rotation slot is Summer Carousel Horse by Theresa Wentzler.  I’ve finished the first page of the working copy and I’m working on the 2nd page.  I would like to finish about 1/2 of this page during this rotation slot.

I need to put the electronics down and stitch more.

Stitch from Stash – July

I was a bad girl this month.  I started off by running out and grabbing the Halloween issue of Just Cross Stitch only to find nothing in it of interest. So there went 9.99 down the drain.  Then I couldn’t find my graphite paper to work on my Tolkien quilt so there went 2.99. And then came Picture This Plus Christmas in July… and I have been aching to do Sabrina and Elizabeth from Mirabilia on the same fabric so I got a half yard of Twilight and I used Thutmosis fabric viewer to pick out Echo for Luna, Gigi, Emi and Ana. Doesn’t matter that I don’t have the patterns yet. I bought the fabric at the Christmas in July Sale. So put me down for 96.75 when it would have been 129 at the regular price.
Oh and I did do some stitching in July. Mainly on Fire and Ice.

Amazing what a few hundred stitches will do.

Stitch from Stash April Report

So I started the month of April by teaching in Logan.  The 2 hour drive to Logan means a visit to Donnett at Embroidery Central.

Through everyone’s Facebook progress pictures, I was falling in love with some of the new Mirabilia’s  and Donnett stocks more Mirabilia’s than any other retail location in Utah.  She also had a copy of My Christmas Quilt by Emie Bishop.  Which gives us a grand total spent of $24.00.  That was going to be my total spend for the month.  But then I started working on Fruit BellPull by Teresa Wentzler and realized that I was missing the 612 and the 3747 but it was okay, I could work around it for awhile.  I did get some progress done on the piece, not much though…

April 034

I did get my Dr. Who quilt pieced and put together except for the outer border.

April 042

I took it to ComicCon FanX with me and Hal the Archer added his signature to it.

April 045

That wasn’t the only signature I got that weekend.  I have a nice start to my Star Trek quilt.

The start of my Star Trek quilt....

The start of my Star Trek quilt….

Seven signatures is a start.  It would be nice if I had been able to get William Shatner and Patrick Stewart for a full 9 blocks.  I’m sure that over time I’ll be able to add 2 more.  The husband would like me to get Dwight Schultz since he loved the character of Reginald Barclay.

So after getting the 7 signatures for my quilt, I wanted some #12 black perle to embroider them in place.  I’ve heard horror stories of people losing the signatures on T-shirts so I’ve pressed these in place and now it’s time to stitch over them, except I was out of #12 black perle cotton.  So I did hit JoAnn’s and I bought the 2 missing floss and a ball of #12 perle – Total $2.60.

That gives me a monthly total of $26.60 for April.  Good thing I didn’t spend all my money in previous months…

The only problem I have now is that I’m thinking the Star Trek signatures should be done in silk.  I think I have some black Subtlety in my stash if not, guess what I’m buying next month…

Time to report on the Stitch from Stash

So this month I was really good because I knew that I have a group stash enhancement experience (yea, Group S.E.X) coming up in March with some friends, we’re driving up to Shepherd’s Bush and Needlepoint Joint. I wanted to have more than $25 to spend there so I have been saving up. However, we got the announcement that we had a weekend to spend $100 because of Nashville Market. I decided to put together my list of beads and get some beading thread but I couldn’t find the beads I wanted but I did find the beading thread. So with a weekend to spend $100 – I spent a grand total of $2.12 including tax for a spool of clear thread.
As for the entire month, I couldn’t find the final button for my Circus Carousel which is almost done so I went in to replace it. While I was there I realized that the elephant button was facing the wrong direction (after all, the animals on a carousel should all face the same direction so the shop owner let me trade the Mill Hill Debbie Mumm elephant for a no name (but cuter) elephant button facing the correct direction. So my total for the month is $2.50 for a tiger button. As for the Circus Carousel, I’m hoping to have it finished in time for the Wednesday WIP report but if not, I’m sure I’ll be done by the end of the month.
